Pedro De Bruyckere (PhD, 1974) holds a position as educational scientist at Arteveldehogeschool in Ghent, Belgium, since 2001 and is also post-doctoral researcher at the University of Leiden, The Netherlands. He is the co-author of several books on youth and education in Dutch and is an often-asked international public speaker on education. One of his strongest points is that he is funny when explaining serious stuff. As an educational myth buster Pedro co-wrote the popular book “Urban Myths about Learning and Education” (2015, Elsevier) with Paul Kirschner and Casper Hulshof. In 2018, he published his new book ‘The Ingredients for Great Teaching’ (Sage Publishing). This book is not about what works in education, but it is all about what could work in education, when it will probably work and it probably won’t. And even more important: why. Pedro is also an avid blogger on new research in education, do check www.theeconomyofmeaning.com.
