Zahra Bei is a secondary school teacher with 20 years in the classroom, based in London.  Zahra taught in a large mainstream secondary mixed comprehensive in North London for 8 years and in alternative provisions for 11 years in North East London.   Previously a Head of Religious Studies, Citizenship and PSHE and Learning Outside the Classroom Coordinator.  Zahra has been a school governor, a union workplace representative for 6 years and until very recently a district NEU Black Equality Officer.  Zahra was one of the co-founders of Mentoring Great Minds and worked as a Youth Club Manager in East London for 2 years. Zahra recently completed a Master’s Degree in Social Justice and Education at UCL/IoE. She is a member of the Advisory Board for Education for Tomorrow.  Her research focus is school exclusion, ‘race’ and SEND.  She is the co-founder of No More Exclusions, a grassroots coalition movement in education with a focus on the race-disparity in school exclusions and inclusive quality education.
