Title: The truth about children’s wellbeing
Summary: Everyone in education today agrees that children’s wellbeing needs to be a priority. But how can we make it THE priority?
Sir Kevan Collins, the UK’s Education Recovery Commissioner, joins Beth Kerr, Group Wellbeing Director for global schools group Cognita, to explore how we can make wellbeing the genuine foundation of education for every child, in every school. In discussion to include audience Q&A, they look at the evidence and share practical tips so that all children and young people can thrive, personally and educationally.
Beth Kerr is Group Director of Wellbeing for the global schools family Cognita. She leads the organisation’s strategy to make wellbeing the number one priority in every Cognita school – empowering young people with the knowledge, understanding and confidence to care for their own wellbeing and learning, now and in the future.
Also a Team Inspector at the Independent Schools Inspectorate, Beth is an experienced teacher and senior leader specialising in pastoral care and wellbeing. She holds an MSc from UCL in Child and Adolescent Mental Health and is passionate about the role of educators in improving the wellbeing of young people today.
Beth was instrumental in developing Cognita’s Be Well Charter to establish a clear definition for wellbeing and the specific factors that influence it.
