The importance of children`s Well-Being and Involvement in 2nd language acquisition

The first part of the session will consider how we create the maximum conditions for teaching and learning by monitoring and embedding Wellbeing and Involvement in the Early Years by sharing recent practice at Wellington College China in our new assessment and planning approaches for young bilingual children.

The session will then move onto older age groups and how continuing to see the learning through the pupil’s eyes supports the acquisition of English as a 2nd language in a Chinese context.

Strategies and approaches such as project planning, CLIL and co-teaching will be explored.
