In conversation with… Anne Longfield

7 July | 12:15 pm - 1:00 pm

Covid drew national focus on disadvantage and vulnerability as experienced by young people, and their sheer prevalence has meant that what we understand by these words has had to change. Policy needs to adapt in recognition of that fact, and former children’s commissioner, Anne Longfield was quick to let her feelings known to ministers as she left that post.

Anne has dedicated her career to supporting young people in need, but what has she learned from her time in that role? And how has the pandemic challenged her understanding of how to meet the challenges? From the school system to the justice system and everywhere in between, this conversation with Schools Week’s commissioning editor promises to reveal a complex and nuanced side to the Commission on Young Lives chair beyond media soundbites.
