Empathy – the skill we need and how to develop it!
8 July | 10:00 am - 10:45 am
Empathy is a word commonly used yet often misunderstood. Crucially, empathy is a skill and therefore it can be taught. In this interactive session you will experience how film can be a powerful tool to develop empathy and hear how educators can develop empathy within their classrooms through multiple tools and techniques. Importantly, you will leave with some ideas on how to implement this crucial skill in the new academic year, understanding how empathy is not an additional ‘add-on’ but is the most vital skill for personal and professional development and for the improvement of wellbeing within schools.
