Church schools and academisation: Benefits and barriers

More and more schools are moving towards academisation. However, Church of England schools, which make up over a quarter of all primary schools and over 200 secondary schools, are limited in their choice of multi-academy trust (MAT). This session asks what the limitations are for schools and what they can do to overcome them. It also considers the benefits that follow from joining a MAT and whether it will impact on the pupils within church schools.
