Action Research: A ‘Tool Kit’ for Harnessing the Self-Critic
7 July | 10:00 am - 10:45 am
What is it about watching yourself on camera that can be so uncomfortable? How can we embrace the process and use it positively to evaluate and improve performance rather than simply criticize ourselves? Even well-known actors do not like watching their performances. Reese Wetherspoon said in 2010 “I won’t watch because if I did I would spiral into a state of self-hate.” In this practical session teacher and actor Emma Crocombe will share research and useful video tools and techniques that can support students in overcoming their own inner critics, helping improve performance and wider skills in the classroom.
