The BFI was founded in 1933 and is a charity governed by a Royal Charter. Combining cultural, creative and industrial roles, we bring together the BFI National Archive and BFI Reuben Library, film distribution, exhibition and education at BFI Southbank and BFI IMAX, publishing and festivals. * put in lottery stuff
Our educational offer includes: BFI Schools programme, BFI Future Film, BFI Film Academy, BFI Families and BFI Online Resources, all working with film in exciting and innovative ways. The BFI’s Schools programme includes study days for KS1 through to A Level and FE. We see upwards of 500 schools visiting us at BFI Southbank annually, to enjoy events linked to the curriculum and exam board specifications, including Film and Media Studies, English & MFL. We also offer primary events from across the subject spectrum.
