Jerome Barlow has 16 years’ experience in child protection, education welfare, safeguarding and school attendance. He is currently the Attendance Champion and Community Engagement Lead at Brakenhale School following five years working in attendance and safeguarding at Reach Academy. He has considerable experience and expertise in driving attendance and facilitated the successful Specialist Home Engagement Lead programme for Hounslow’s Early Help Offer, presenting this model at the 2024 Festival of Education. He was a panellist in the 2025 Teacher Tapp debate regarding parent engagement and has a special interest in DEI and LGBTQ issues. He is also training as CCF Contingency Commander.
