Executive Headteacher of Coastal Academies Trust
Paul Luxmoore is Executive Headteacher of Coastal Academies Trust, consisting of five schools in Thanet, south east Kent – one of the most deprived parts of the UK. The Trust includes an outstanding selective school, an outstanding primary school and three secondary modern schools, two of which are technically the lowest performing (according to Progress 8) in Kent. Three of the schools are IB World Schools, offering only the IBDP and IBCP in their Sixth Forms. Paul became Head of Dane Court Grammar School in Broadstairs, a Teaching School, 12 years ago, before federating with King Ethelbert School 8 years ago. He believes passionately in state schools taking collective responsibility for all children and he believes that the multi academy trust structure is an effective way of delivering fairer access to education for all children, particularly in the context of a selective local authority. He is a National Leader of Education and a co-opted member of the IB Schools and Colleges Association Steering Committee.
