I am currently the Vice-Chair of the Faringdon Academy of Schools Board, and Chair of its Resources Committee and have almost 20 years of experience as a Governor in both the Primary and Secondary phase.
Currently I Chair the Local Governing Body for Faringdon Community College and also sit on the Governing Body of a Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School which has recently joined the established Diocese of Bristol Academy Trust.
My time as a governor has ensured I have a wide-ranging understanding of governance and the issues that a school might face. I have always take an active role in the wider governance arena and have chaired the Association of Swindon Governors, sat as the independent Cahir of a Children’s Trust Board for 5 years and currently sit as the Independent Chair on Exclusion Review Panels.
I have been able to draw on the experiences I gained during my working life initial in HR within the Health Service and then within statutory compliance for The Law Society as my governance focus has been in the arena of finance, staffing, performance and organisational management.
I am one of the original members of the Faringdon Academy of Schools Board which was formed on the 1st of April 2012 as a 3 school Multi Academy Trust. The Trust expanded in November 2013 when a further 5 schools joined it.
