Laurie Shute

Laurie is currently a student at the university of Warwick where she has just completed her second year reading Politics and International studies. After sitting her GCSEs at Wycombe High School, she moved to sir William Borlase Grammar School in Marlow. At the start of her final year, she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a form of blood cancer. However, in 2014 she completed her a levels in politics, history and economics. During her gap year, she worked as an intern in the House of Commons in the constituency office of the Rt hon Dominic grieve QC MP. She is proud to also represent the teenage cancer trust as an ambassador and work in support the Future fertility trust based at the John Radcliffe Oxford. At university, Lauren is an ambassador for the politics and international studies department and has recently begun to write for the university newspaper and has just had her first article published.
