Kirsty Tonks is Principal Designate of Shireland Technology Primary, which will open in 2018 in Smethwick, West Midlands. The school’s purpose is to enable pupils to achieve beyond their expectations by providing the best technology-enabled education opportunities.
She draws on over two decades of teaching and leadership experience in both Primary and Secondary schools and believes that harnessing technology for learning can enable, engage, enthuse and lead to effective, sustained school improvement.
She is known nationally for her work on Flipped Learning through leading an independently evaluated EEF project and organising the first national conference on Flipped Learning with TES Global. She often presents around the country on the role of technology in education.
