Kate is an Associate at UCL Institute of Education and co-founder of Rethinking-Ed.org; which specialises in research-informed professional development & school improvement. Prior to this Kate spent 15 years in secondary schools in the UK, leading on language teaching, entrepreneurial education and global citizenship initiatives where she developed the Learning Skills approach. After spending a year teaching in the Jungle refugee camp in Calais, Kate co-founded Crisis Classroom – a social enterprise which, building on the Learning Skills Approach, trains & supports volunteers, grass-roots organisations & NGOs to work with refugee and vulnerable learners all over the world.
