Deputy Headteacher, Lea Valley Primary School

Allana Gay is currently the Deputy Headteacher at Lea Valley Primary School in the heart of Tottenham. Her experience as an educator and school leader arches over secondary and primary schools all of whom have been in challenging or deprived circumstances. Allana has worked within these settings raising standards rapidly to improve the learning environment for students. Allana now shares her leadership experiences across the sectors to encourage primary and secondary schools to work in true partnership to ensure transition between phases is unnoticeable.

Allana seeks to change the outward face of education by ensuring equality for all within the education sector.  She is a London regional leader for the established WomenEd network which seeks to support more women in education towards senior posts. In January 2017, Allana co-founded BAMEed Network which seeks to develop ethnic diversity in the education profession. The network encourages more BAME educators into the profession and seeks to ensure they are supported to progress within their careers. Allana staunchly believes that having diversity of educators at all levels will rapidly improve the profession and the global understanding of society.
