Alison is the Headteacher at Ricards Lodge High School in Wimbledon, South West London. Ricards Lodge is a larger than average maintained comprehensive school for girls in the London Borough of Merton with a co-educational sixth form RR6. Our school values of Trust, Equality, Resilience and Aspiration underpin our motto Educating Successful Women of the Future. Ricards Lodge High School was judged Outstanding by Ofsted in November 2017.
Alison has been the Headteacher at Ricards Lodge High School since 2005 opening the sixth form in 2010. Before that she was a Senior Teacher and then Deputy Head at Southfields Academy in Wandsworth, a Head of Year at Burntwood School, Wandsworth and at the start of her career in 1990 a History teacher at Ricards Lodge High School having graduated with a BA(Hons) History and then PGCE History and RE from Exeter University.
Alison is currently a member of the Association of State Girls’ Schools having previously held the role of President, a Women Leading in Education coach, a member of the SSAT Leading Edge Steering Group, and a coach on an SSAT Leadership programme. Locally, Alison is a member of the Merton Safeguarding Children’s Board, Merton Attain, Merton Special School Teaching Alliance, Teach Wimbledon and a coach on the SWELSP preparation for Headship programme. Alison currently teaches Year 12 on the Extended Project Qualification.
