Using technology in the classroom: A research-informed perspective

The provision of technology for the classroom is often focused on the ‘whizz and bang’ approach, promoting the use of eye-catching digital tools and equipment without due consideration to pedagogical factors and, crucially, the context of the individual school. José’s session is firmly based on the effective use of technology for learning and is informed by research findings as well as by his experience in integrating mobile technology seamlessly into the daily classroom routine of teachers and students.
