Teaching expertise is tough to define and tougher to teach. We have been trying to do both at the Institute for Teaching and in this session I want want to share our latest thinking and what we’ve learnt – warts and all. What did we learn from the curriculum used for Fast Jet Pilots? Does deliberately practicing like an olympic hockey player make a difference? If your mental models were as developed as a grand master chess player does that help? All this and more.
