Overcoming literacy barriers in maths using a peer feedback approach

Find out how developing peer feedback among your post-16 maths learners can impact on their final achievement rates. In this session you will discover how the collaborative talking and thinking approach, linking back to the work of Swan and Boaler, is so effective. Stimulating increased oral debate and explanations can lead to increased understanding of questions and improved quality of written responses in external tests. Peer feedback is a strategy that can be used effectively in any maths classroom. Attendees will be able to take away a short guide, which includes implementation instructions, case studies and a sample lesson plan.

Across two days, over 250 sessions will take place at the Festival. A full timetable of sessions will be available from late May 2019. Until this point we will only be announcing the day(s) sessions will be taking place.
