This session will look at the wide range of skills, knowledge and attitudes that children need to build in order to become writers. Sue will explore how early writing develops and how children move from the first marks to becoming writers. She will share ideas to help your children build motor control, develop focus and feel inspired to express their ideas through the written word. The session will include examples of strategies and activities to support and challenge young learners in their mark making and early writing. It is aimed at practitioners and teachers in EYFS and KS1 but will also be of interest to anyone who wants to find out more about the development of early writing.
