Leading a research-informed English department.


I’d like to share our approach to curriculum and assessment design that has been informed by research. I could talk about our use of spacing and interleaving; move away from summative assessments; embedding retrieval practice; dual coding and our approach to feedback (I probably won’t talk about them all!). It might be a popular session because it demonstrates how we’ve applied ideas in the classroom setting and I’ll be able to share what has worked/not worked two years into leading this department.
