A career strategy is a structured approach which enable professionals to navigate a career ‘journey’ successfully. Following the consultation on the strengthening of QTS and the government’s response, how can the profession itself take the lead in developing a career strategy? This session will examine the practical issues of potential career pathways including flexible working, middle leadership and alternatives to ‘traditional’ leadership roles and structures, the role of CPD and further qualifications in a career strategy and roles across MATs and federation. Participants will be encouraged to put forward ideas for a thinkpiece that will follow the session.
