Driver Youth Trust is a national charity dedicated to improving outcomes for learners with literacy difficulties. We want a society that understands the nature and impact of literacy difficulties, so that we can do something about it. We support schools to develop effective literacy and SEND provision by:
improving classroom practice
influencing policy makers and funders to prioritise learners with literacy difficulties
advocating to increase access to effective literacy provision.
Our Drive for Literacy (DfL) programme works with teachers to ensure that all learners receive an education that is responsive and tailored to their literacy needs. It is a whole-school approach to literacy provision that drives system change and improvement, improves classroom practice and creates a culture where outcomes are improved for all learners.
